Hit a &*!!+%% Plateau

No more pounds off as yet. : ( Not too happy about it. It really is true what they say about hitting plateaus and all that.
It is GOING to come off. It's just a matter of time. I go for labwork stuff on Monday. I have to be fasting. I hope I don't pass out or anything. Then, I see my lady doctor next week and we''ll see how I'm doing. I hope the labs will show that I'm making good progress on the weight loss and on controlling the diabetes.
Wish me luck on Monday. I absolutely HATE and detest the bloodletting.

Spring Cleaning--Going through lots of stuff, etc.

Working hard here at the Enchanted Hollow. Spring cleaning is in full force! Keep watching my ebay listings because I am weeding out a lot of cool stuff!!
In other Enchanted Hollow news: The weather people said it's supposed to rain today but the sun comes out periodically and, overall, it's a beautiful day here. Who can figure the weather people out?
My cat children, Maggie and Chrissy, were meandering around, making sure
that our other cat boy, Tiger, isn't lurking somewhere. Tiger adopted us
when we were living in our interim apartment (between houses), but he
refuses to adapt to Maggie and Chrissy so we keep him separated from them.
We 'rotate' them. When it's Tiger's 'turn' to have the run of the house,
Maggie and Chrissy stay in my bedroom. When it's Chrissy and Maggie's turn,
Tiger stays in Albert's bedroom. And, you know, it works well. No one gets
hurt or killed. Chrissy and Maggie are very amiable, but Tiger will go
after them and his intentions don't seem playful. Tiger is so affectionate
with us, though. Except when he gets what my daughter calls "bitey". Then,
it's best for him to have some alone time. : )
Right now, Maggie and Chrissy are having their afternoon naps in their respective favorite spots on our sectional sofa here in the living room. I think the 'meandering' tired them out!
Albert is SUPPOSED to work on our still unfinished kitchen today. I am
going to be so happy when it gets done.
I'm trying to figure out what creative 'something' to work on. I think I'm going to start on a doll that is going to be a surprise present for a friend. The 'choosing which doll to make' is a LOT of fun!
I don't know if I've told my bloggie friends how much I love Al Green's music, especially the song, 'Let's Stay Together'. I'm mentioning it because it's playing right now. Yes, I'm definitely an early '70's girl. : ) It seems like the older I get, the more nostalgic I get for the 'old days'. : )

Unfinished Doll on Ebay for you to Complete

Hello everyone and I hope you all are having a great day,
I just wanted to let you know that I'm listing a bunch of doll related items on ebay and one of them is this pretty cloth doll that I was working on recently. I'm sort of getting away from cloth dollmaking these days and I don't think I will be finishing her. So, if any of you are interested, here is her listing on ebay:

Pictures of my Monster High girl, Willow Elizabeth

Here she is! Isn't she gorgeous? Two of the pictures show her wearing the pale green nightgown I am working on for her. It isn't quite finished yet. I am currently sewing tiny iridescent beads onto the lace shown and I will be adding a gorgeous trim. I designed the nightgown myself because I absolutely could NOT find a pattern for one for these dolls.
I want to make another nightgown for her just like this one only a different color and with long sleeves.
Love to all,
Cindy

Another bit of info about the weight loss stuff I'm doing

Hey there,
Okay, number one, I drink A LOT of water all day, every day.
Second bit of info about what I'm doing: I eat breakfast right after I get up. I never used to do that. I would always have a cup of coffee first and eventually get around to breakfast.
Those days are gone for good. Now I eat breakfast and take my meds first thing. Breakfast is one serving (about 3/4 cup, maybe a wee bit more) of a cereal made by 'Barbara's'. The cereal is called Shredded Spoonfuls-Multigrain. I have a bit of regular Half and Half coffee cream on it, believe it or not, or a bit of milk. And, when I say 'a bit' here, I mean just enough to moisten the cereal.
I also have three apple slices. I get the pre-prepared ones by Chiquita. They are near the produce section in the grocery store and they come in a plastic bag.
THEN, I make my coffee. I use sweetener in it, half and half coffee creamer and 'a bit' of sugar, again believe it or not. By 'a bit' here I mean 1 to 2 scant teaspoons. I had to start doing that because my blood sugar kept dipping too low as a result of taking the Metformin and of restricting what I'm eating. So, now I allow myself to have a bit of sugar in my coffee.
I should post some sort of disclaimer here. I'm telling all of you what I have been doing to lose the weight and fight the diabetes. The things I'm doing may very well NOT be right for others. I truly don't know.
I just know it's working for me.
Another thing I'm doing or, rather, NOT doing. I do not go out to eat now. Well, actually, I DO get a cup of coffee from McDonald's here and there, but I bring it home and put my sweetener and cream and stuff in it here.
I used to go out to eat and get carry out and fast food type stuff all the time, especially since we haven't had a functioning kitchen for the past year.
Not anymore. It's mainly because I'm not sure what would be in the food I would be getting, as far as hidden sugars and hidden fats and that type of thing goes. Diabetics really need to watch that.
Plus, I honestly don't want to face the temptations that would be all around me. Also, if you want a real eye-opener about fast food and restaurant food and what is in the various menu items (even the things you THINK are better for you), look up their nutrition information online. You will be absolutely shocked by the amount of sugars, carbohydrates, and fats that are in just about everything offered in fast food places and in many restaurants. Forget it. Eating that way is what landed me in this boat. (my personal opinion).
I'm sure I will go out to a restaurant or whatever at some point, but when I do, I'm going to be VERY careful about it.
Oh, also, I don't drink alcohol. I've never been big on it so that one wasn't too hard.
Love to all,
Cindy who is 31 pounds lighter than she was and loving it!

Monster High!!!

Yes, it's true.....I've fallen in love with the Monster High dolls, especially the repaints being done. I recently was fortunate enough to win the auction for a pretty Monster High repaint doll who started out as a Draculaura. I'll have to get pics of her asap and post them. I have named her Willow Elizabeth. I am currently happily busy making a traditional looking (maybe kind of victorian looking) floor length sleeveless nightgown for her since I could NOT find one ANYWHERE to buy for her. It is pale mint green with tiny white polka dots, trimmed with very narrow ivory lace trim and I may add another trim. Plus I'm planning to put a lace overlay on the fabric ruffle that will be at the bottom of the nightgown. I am finally almost finished with it and I will post pics as soon as I have them so you can all see.
Loves to all,
Cindy

Now it's Thirty-ONE pounds : )

It truly is. I dropped another one. Hooray!!! Soon it will be forty pounds gone. I feel so much lighter and it is much easier to move around and I have a lot more energy. It's wonderful!
Thank you so, so much for the support, encouragement, and love. It's working. : )
I will be going to get bloodwork done around April 2nd and then I see my dr. on April 10th and I think she is going to be really pleased with my progress.
Here is one of the things I have been doing: I drink A LOT of water every day, all day. It is a really essential component to health, vitality, weight loss, and BEATING DIABETES!! Take that, and that, and that, ............: )
Love to all,
Cindy
